Default BT via BDM Connection Question

Please Login to Remove!

Hello folks,

I have an 8310 running 4.5.0.42 and Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.6.0.6.

I have pair my PC and BB correctly. I am trying to sync my Outlook via BT. In Blackberry Desktop Manager under Options and then Connection Options, I try to change the Connection Type, but there is no other connection type, just USB and NONE.

And the "Turn on Bluetooth Support" check box is grayed out.

I am able to transfer files back and forth and vice versa with no problems.

Any ideas what I am missing here?

You need to be using the stock Windows drivers for your bluetooth. If you're using another set of drivers from the BT cards manufacturer then BT won't work.

I use a Compaq nw8440 with built-in BT. Windows sees the device but does not have drivers for it. I use the drivers directly from the Hp.com website.

I am able to transfer files and use hands-free using the built-in mic and speakers on the laptop. I am still not able to sync with BDM over BT.

I am using a Dell laptop with built-in bluetooth support (I am guessing non-stock drivers). Does anyone know how to get the bluetooth support on a Dell? I also have the "Turn on Bluetooth support" greyed out. Is this a Dell problem or a RIM problem?
