Default 8130 Housing/Keyboard Question

Please Login to Remove!

I've been looking for quite some time now to switch the housing on my 8130 because of scratches on the housing. Problem is I can't find the proper parts, other than silver. I'd love to have black, amethyst or even the grey colour, but not silver. On the best website i know for BB components (Cellular Accessories), they say that the 8110 and 8120 GSM keyboards will not fit the CDMA 8130, i think thats the only difference in the components.

Is there anyone that can confirm this? Or maybe any way to get around it? Maybe another website has better housing for the 8130?

i don't have an answer for you, but i have also been looking for new housing. I got the red pearl, and I really don't like the way it looks. I would have been happier with any of the neutral colors. I will keep my eye out for anything.

Question

Looks like 8100 only. I think we're looking for 8130 (I know at least the back battery cover and keypad is different, not sure about anything else), or at least I am. Does anyone know where we could find 8130-specific parts? I've looked around and can't find much.

Ebay for dummy phones seems about the only way, but I'm not sure how well that would work out.. Has anyone had success?

HorizonWireless has the black housing for the 8120 or 8130... but no black keypad.

found the black keypad, unfortunately it comes with the trackball assembly and costs $44.95
Blackberry Pearl Keypad with Trackball Assembly BLACK 8130

Plus a full black housing for $21.99
8120 Pearl Complete Housing - Black

and the bottom cover for $11.98 (only avail w/ Tmobile emblem)
8100 Pearl Black Bottom Cover - Black Tmobile

So folks, looks like for a full black 8130, you're gonna run $78.92+ S&H. plus another $15 if you wanted to replace the chrome side rails... so around $100. OUCH.

I emailed the customer service to see if they have the 8130 keyboard for CDMA devices, like they claim in the title

And you're right, skins are rather convenient. I'm just OCD, and would like the keyboard to match the rest of the phone. I have 2 skins on the way, but I'd really like to have the black housing. Having a sticker on my phone would probably bother me, and i can't stand the rubber skins.
