Default Verizon Wireless BB 8330 OS update

Please Login to Remove!

Verizon Wireless posted an OS 4.3 update on their website on 5/27/08. The patch name is: Release 202. I guess that makes it OS 4.3.0.202?

Does anyone know what improvements/fixes are on this release? Has anyone updated their VZW OS to this release? I want to know what it does before I install it.

Why use that when you can be using 4.5.0.51 for your CDMA VZW 8330? I'm using it now and it works far better, such as seeing those HTML emails, etc. There is a ton of info out there on how to upgrade.

Nope, its 4.3.0.127 (202). Like the poster above, its the OS that is currently on the VZW curves.

That OS is not available from any legal download location. It is still a beta and should be treated as such. Using it can cause unforseen issues on your device.

Really? When I look at Options>About, it just says v4.3.0.127 (Platform 3.1.0.72). How do I know I have Release 202? I bought my BB on May 12th. I guess they could have installed the latest OS (Release 202) on my BB and then posted the update later.

KINetics, I won't install beta OS software on my BB. I want all/most of the bugs fixed before I start using it.

Hmmm... that doesn't do anything. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I am interpreting the instructions as hold in the Alt key and then press the R key, then the A key, then the C key, then the E key.

Is there a "RACE" key? Do I need to be in a certain screen?

Homescreen:

Hold ALT + EACE (press E then A then C then E while holding down ATL).

Not RACE. Lol.

I'm leary of loading unapproved operating systems on my bb. I'm ok with a newer os if it's published by another cdma carrier, but if it's still in beta, I don't mess with it. If it aint broke, don't break it.

RACE is the same as EACE on SureType keyboards, which is why some people know it as that.

That did it.

And, yes, I have Release 202.

Thanks,
