Default Contacts not syncing.

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys -

I have a blackberry pearl 8100 here that is a user on the BES here. He's been fully activated on the BES. His calendar and email are working perfectly, everything is syncing both ways, however his contacts are screwed up.

When he updates/add the contacts in his exchange or his blackberry they don't sync either way. I've checked the BES settings and his address book is set to sync bidirectional and server wins on conflicts.

I've tried hard resets, reactivating the device etc.

Maybe I'm missing something here? Are there any additional settings on the phone?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance.

-Nick

Check his wireless sync settings on the device.
Address Book > Options > Wireless Synchronization = ?

I don't see this there. All I see is Sort By: Confirm Delete: Allow duplicate names: and then the Number of Entries: 1172

That would be the problem.
Resend the service books to the user's handheld.

Just resent them about 2 minutes ago and still nothing. Should I try restarting the phone? Also is there anyway to delete the service books first and then send them? Or does that screw things up?

Deleting and then immediately undeleting the service book should do the trick.
Just do the Desktop [SYNC] service book.
After you undelete it should force a slow sync to occur.

Any other suggestions would be extremely appreciated, as I have been working on this thing on and off all day.

Delete the service books, resend from the server. WAIT.

Just to be sure... you've checked the following settings in BES?

User > Properties > PIM Sync > Wireless Synchronization Enabled = True
User > Properties > PIM Sync > (Address Book) Synchronization Enabled = True
User > Properties > PIM Sync > (Address Book) Enabled on Device = True

IT Policy > PIM Synchronization Policy Group > Disable All Wireless Synchronization = False
IT Policy > PIM Synchronization Policy Group > Disable Address Wireless Synchronization = False

Ok appears to be fixed now, I just toggle the Address Book sync setting to True/False/True and it came back on. Just one of those glitched up stupid errors. Thanks so much guys.

I have several users who are having a similar problem. The question I have is how do you go about deleting the service book from the device. I know how to resend it to the device. Can I do this from the BES or do I need to have the users do it manually on the device?

Thanks
