having a data plan would not affect the device's menu options to allow for an MMS to be sent. is that not a factory default?

Jmcmullen, pls clarify, is the menu option missing from your phone, or you just can't send an mms?

I agree, it should be a menu option, but not having a data plan may affect it.

It could just be that MMS isn't provisioned on the OP's account, may check that too

But even if that was the case, it should still appear as a menu option, network supported or not.

I'm with Rogers with a data plan, and MMS is not an option from camera - just email.

What OS are you running? I'm not sure if that will make any difference. I am on Rogers and am able to send files via MMS. I'm running 4.5.0.55 but was able to do it before I upgraded.

So detailed in looking for your help for yourself.

What OS are you running?
Do you have a BB Data Plan?

At Options > Advanced > Service Books:
Do you have the "MMS Client" Service Book?
Do you have the "MMS Transport" Service Book?

JSanders is right. I don't have a data plan and the MMS menu entry is not available. No MMS entry found in my service book either.

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

The only reference to MMS I have in my service books is

Rogers MMS [WAP]

I have the MMA menu option come up when in camera mode. I don't believe this one sevice book is an MMS activation.

I do have a data plan though.

Just any FYI.
