Default Suretype when typing in web address

Please Login to Remove!

Any other pearl users notice with 4.5 that you can't use suretype in the browser address bar? It gives a dotted underline when typing in the address but it doesn't give me the drop down menu to select what word I want. I've looked all over and it's probably just me. Someone help me out here.

I have an 8120 running 4.5 and I can use suretype. when you are in the address bar, hit the menu button, do you have an option to 'enable suretype'.

Wow, maybe you didn't understand the first post. He certainly knows how to enable suretype in the address bar. The problem is he doesn't see the normal drop down list of predicted words.

I also think this is a real problem and I haven't found a solution. It's such a pain just trying to get it to show "gmm" in google.com/gmm

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

Try rolling the trackball left to right or up and down. Doing this seems to allow you to scroll through some optional spellings without seeing the drop down bar.

I have the same problem. If it picks the wrong word, I just have to backspace, and type the exact same thing over again, and it types the next option.

Kind of annoying. I have taken just going to google, and typing the website name in the search box, then the website is usually the first result. At least on the google page, I can see the options like I should be able to with suretype.

I think RIM should take the Opera route and have the address bar default to multi-tap, like it automatically does for username and password fields. It's really common to have not real words in URLs.

EXACTLY!!! This is exactly what I have to do each time and it's annoying. If I had one complaint with 4.5 it would be this. Makes me want to rip my hair out.

Also to the person that asked if I had suretype enabled. Yes I do. To the other person that said something about scrolling left and right. Yes that does it. I can't believe I didn't think about that. It's always the most logical/simple thing you don't try! Thanks! This will get me by until RIM actually implements the drop down box. Well hopefully they do.
