First, yes I have read the thread about disassembly of my pearl.

But since no one has warned me off I'm going to try and replace the LCD screen on my 8120 with the LCD screen from my old 8100.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Stop me now if this is a really bad idea. I could just go back to using my 8100. I really don't want to end up with both phones ruined!

Oh yeah. Sorry, it was discussed in the disassembly thread, but a shelf fell on my pearl and though the glass didn't break, my LCD screen is busted.

I just hoping somebody around here had actually replaced an LCD on a pearl and can give me some confidence that it can be done. I saw somewhere that the LCD was held in place by double stick tape and it might be damaging to try and remove it. Any wise thoughts to share?

I have read that also... I know it can be done. Just be careful with the sticky tape. If not done correctly, your repair may let in lots of dust, etc.
