Default OS 4.5, now 3 calendars, what's the 3rd?

Please Login to Remove!

With previous OS4.5 upgrades I had two calendar options, BES and BIS. Now, I just noticed that I have a 3rd titled "device default". When I select it to view, no appointments appear (despite having them set on the other two calendars).

What is the "device default" calendar?

Those were Calender events created during the old OS (prior to 4.3/4.5?). You actually get as many calenders as email accts on the device.

I'm not sure I understand. With the prior version of OS4.5 I only had/saw 2 calendars and email accounts. Now I still only have two email accounts but now three calender options.

Can you or someone else please elborate?

One email account gets a Calender devoted to it so that you can assign different events to a respective email address. Let's say I have a calender event for a doctor's appointment, I can associate that appointment to a personal email address. Now, let's say I have a college email address and want to program in class times into my calender - I can assign that to my school email address. Hope that helps?

Wirelessly posted

Thanks but I understood that part and as I said am using two calendars, in fact similar to how you described. But it's the third calendar that had not been present before that I'm wondering about. Is this 3rd one simply as it says, the default calendar for the BB, for example, the one that would exist if I had no email associated with the BB? If that's what it is then I guess I'll have to just accept the fact that it's visible now when it hadn't been before, and not worry as to why.

Thanks for your input, much appreciated.

I noticed this as well, except all of my calender items were dumped into this device calender. On my pearl, I had an issue where I would assign my personal email address as my default calender but it always got switched to the blackberry.net address, so when I switched to the curve, I stopped trying to have any other's and left it. Now that everything has been dumped into this new calender, I've just left it. I can't keep messing with it!!

I hope my question is relative to this thread....I have my calendar and then I have to keep my colleagues' calendars too. I assigned myself my main e-mail address and everyone else, the blackberry address that I never use. Some of my cases few times go to another colleague.....but it seems once I saved the event, there is no way to move it to another calendar, I can't get over this because (to me) this should be an obvious choice. Am I missing something? Yes, I could rewrite the whole event again..but..that would be a drag.

Default Answering my own question

It was probably so obvious no one replied to me, but in the event there is anyone wondering the same, my solution:

I sent an even invitation to the e-mail address of the calendar where I wanted to move it. Then I delete the event from the calendar where I don't want it WITHOUT notifying the cancellation. That allows me to change the event from one calendar to another. Since I use the "all calendars view" Now I know which cases are mine and which are not.

My problem was that when I am in the "all calendar view" I could not move any specific event from one calendar to another. I thought that by clicking on top of the opened event I would be able to move the event from one calendar to another (since all e-mail addresses and their assigned colors come up), but apparently once the event is saved once, you can never move it.
