I have a BB (8800) that is having sync issues on the calender with Manager 4.5.
It gets a conflict when it is syncing via cable as it claims the Calender wireless sync is on, so I set the wireless sync to NO on the BB and sorted the settings in the BB manager, but as soon as it was plugged back in the wireless sync defaulted back to YES.
So made the changes again on the BB whilst it connected via the cable and managed to get the sync running. But the following day it was reconnected via cable and the Wireless Sync defaulted back to yes again.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to keep the Wireless Sync set to NO?
Are you on a BES (or has this handset ever been used on a BES)? If the former, you may need to speak to your BES admins to disable wireless sync for your calendar, if the latter you may need to back up the data on it, wipe and restore if an old IT policy is on there.
Ok, I will need to find this out. It is actually my CEO's BB and i'm the IT support, but to be honest i've have had very little to do with BB, so i will need to speak to my Boss about it. Cheers and i'll be posting back when i know more.
Easiest way of seeing if it's active on a BES is to go to options, advanced options, enterprise activation and it should list a date on which it was activated, but yeah speak to your boss anyway as he might know more of the handset's history.
ok, spoken to boss and it is not BES and he thinks that maybe when the user installed the BB desktop manager he may of selected BES on that, so i will try reinstalling the software first. Cheers for your help and i will let you know the outcome.
On the blackberry go to calendar, then options and change the Wireless Sync to No, then go to the desktop manager and make sure you change there option from wireless sync to outlook or the program you want to sync
