This is hard to explain but i will try.

When typing a message I use to be able to press and hold the 'alt' key while hitting other keys. All of a sudden today it wont let me do that. I have to hit the 'alt' key then hit which ever key I need.

I assume some setting was changed by a random button pushing while in my pocket. Please let me know if this is to hard to understand, it's bothering me...

thats one of my biggest gripes about my BB.. Like entering contact info or somewhere where numlock should automatically be enabled instead of having to hold down the bloody alt key.. or even trying to punch in a phone number can get in teh way sometimes... and since its so close to the number pad i often hit the altkey while trying to punch in my passcode for my voicemail LOL sometimes it can be a pin in the butt LOL.. I suppose ill get used to it over time.

For your voicemail, why not set it up so your phone will automatically dial it for you after a couple of seconds.

Open your phone app > hit the menu key > options > voicemail and enter your pass code. Your voicemail number may already be entered, if not enter it. Then you need only press and hold the "W" key (speed dial key).

I'm not sure what you are talking about, in entering or editing contacting information, for instance in a phone number, it is defaulted to number values. At least it is on mine.

Have you actually tried typing a number into a numerical (phone number) field without touching the alt key? As JS said above, on our BB's the Phone Number fields are preset to accept numerical values and not letters, but if you hit the Alt key you will then and only then get letters.

When your cursor is in one these phone number fields, do you see an icon in the top right corner with NUM in the center?
