Hi, i have an issue whereby if different versions of blackberry software are installed / uninstalled correctly from a machine, there comes a point where an install will go through the motions, finish, and deposit an icon on the desktop. However, the software will not start when the icon is clicked. By 'not start', i mean, it starts, flashes up on screen, then disappears almost immediately. Has anyone seen this before?
I have hacked all the references to research in motion and blackberry out of the registry after an uninstall, and this appears to make no difference to the next install.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you download this software from the net? If so, did u turn off the virus protection?
