Wink Ok, so I'm really bad but...

...yes, I know where the search button is.

...no, I don't log on here everyday. Hard to keep up!

But I don't have the patience to weed through threads looking for my answer because it's pretty specific...

Does anyone know when T-Mobile plans to release the new upgrade 4.5 for the Curve 8320? I thought it was supposed to be early September. And if other carriers have it already, why not T-Mobs?

The thing is, I don't want to install a version off of another carrier. I've had enough problems with my phone and the last thing I need is to be denied service to my phone because I downloaded a non T-Mobile authorized version. We know how they can be.

So, any answers to this?

thanks!

Laur

Wirelessly posted (off to see the wizard)

The operating systems are the same for each carrier ATT os will work just as well as the TMO os you just have to remove the vendor ID

You're correct about support, though. If you need support, you have to put the 4.2 back on. However, you can get better support here than anywhere else, so it's a no brainer if you spend a little time poking around the forums.

Nobody knows when TMobile is going to release a version of 4.5.

You will never be denied service from loading the OS from another carrier. I have never heard of that happening with my experience of reading and seeing posts on this Forum, with over 100,000 members and all that is posted here.

TMo never said they were releasing OS 4.5 in September. ATT is about to do so this month, rumors are. I have not read any rumors on the TMo front on the same matter.

It's true, though, if you load another OS TMobile will want you to change the OS back before going too much further with a handheld issue. Some say warranty is voided but that's untrue.

And still, no one knows when T-Mobile will release 4.5.
