Default Problems synching with Outlook 2003

Please Login to Remove!

We have a number of new Blackberry Pearl 8110's which for all but one user synch perfectly with Outlook.

We're running the latest version of the Blackberry sync software.

Whenever the user in question plugs his Blackberry into his computer it begins to sync with Outlook and then display a message saying:

"The following changes from Calendar Microsoft Outlook will be applied to your Device data in Calendar". You can select Accept, Reject or Cancel.

The problem is that there are no actual changes that have been made to the calendar - either on the phone or on Outlook. Even if you select Accept the same message appears each time he connects the phone.

Interestingly enough this has only just started happening - for the last two weeks it's been working perfectly. No additional software or updates have been installed.

Any ideas how we can fix this?

Thanks in advance.

What OS are you running the 8110?
Have you tried 1 way sync to from Outlook to the BlackBerry?
As a last resort you could backup the device (except the calendar) wipe the hand held and then sync it again, see what happens.

we're running XP Pro.

The synching issues are not just with the Calendar - it occurs with Tasks as well.

We'd prefer not to wipe the device if possible - seems a bit drastic at this stage.

he's using Outlook 2003 and the latest version of the blackberry desktop manager. I can get you the exact version number if needed.

he's not had any other issues with outlook - his previous Blackberry Pearl before the upgrade to the 8110 worked fine when synching.

Just to try, I would uninstall re-install the BlackBerry Desktop Manager but I would try Version 4.3 or maybe even 4.2.2 but I would try version 4.3 first.

You can also run a scanPST on your PST file although since you haven't had any previous problems with Outlook that might not help too much.

Have you tried sync'ing the BlackBerry on another computer or no?
