Well just a couple weeks ago the USB port went on me....
Now the earpiece speaker is ridiculously quiet, almost inaudible...
I have to use it on speaker just to hear anyone.

Thank god for my bluetooth headset, but I definitely need to replace the speaker.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately I bought it from a 3rd party....so no warranty.

It's always a tough situation when you're outside of warranty. I know you mentioned you bought it from a 3rd party, but are you due for an upgrade on your account? I ask because it might be time to get a new one. Or maybe time to visit a different 3rd party source.

I am definitely due for an upgrade, but was hoping to hold out until the Bold comes out here in the US with AT&T (my carrier).

I don't mind always using the blue tooth....its just more of a convenience thing. Besides, I may give this phone to my wife once I upgrade....she's addicted to brickbreaker (yes, a sad misuse of the blackberry, I know).
