Default if server has crashed and database has restored

a BES server has crashed for whatever reasons. You rebuild the server and restore the BES database. I know that the Blackberry devices don't need to re-do enterprise activation. My question is what makes the BES database doesn't require enterprise activation again on the device?

Because the database "knows" that the handheld is already activated and contains the proper encryption keys, settings, etc. for the handheld.

How about this? If I move the BES server from childdomainA to childdomainB in the same forest by unjoining from childdomainA and rejoining to childdomainB, does this screw up anything?

It doesn't matter what you do to the BES. You could poour gas over it and set it on fire then run it over with your car. As long as you have the DB you are fine.

Moving from domain to domain is fine as long as BESAdmin still has rights in each domain. The only thing that screws things up is losing your DB or moving to a new Exchange org.

The knows what users work because the users are stored in the DB and it can then access their mailbox and see the BB info whick tells it what BES they are using.

Awesome.

How about this now? I have two BES servers and each in its own BES domain. If I want to consolidate the two BES domains into one, will this require enterprise activation on the devices?

If the device will be used on a different configuration database, then yes... you need to reactivate.

If the two BES share the same config database, then you don't have to reactivate.
