I am new to Blackberry and just got a Bold 9000. So far I have no subscription to a BIS or BES service, just a normal T-Online mobile subscription. I would like to use the Blackberry to surf the web when I am at home but so far I have not managed it (if it is possible at all). My Blackberry logs into the wifi network without any problems but when I try to browse the web it insists on making a web connection via the telephone (almost impossible where we live [in Germany]). Am I trying to do the impossible?

You'll need to atleast subscribe to a BIS service long enough for the service books for the browser to come over to the device,than cancel the BIS service and browse away!

Could you elaborate a little on that. Do I need a special browser to be able to browse using my own home WiFi network? Why does it still work after I cancel the BIS subscription? Can such a BIS subscription only be had from Blackberry or should I turn to my provider (T-Online)?
