Default Can you program the side buttons to open the music player?

Please Login to Remove!

I know I can program the side buttons to launch "Media", but I'd like it to go straight to "Music". Anyone been able to do this?

I'm using a Pearl 8130 with OS 4.5.0.89.

Thanks
Dean

Select "Music Player" as the program to launch.

No, not a trick question...
I don't have Music Player as an option.
The list goes goes Manage Connections > Maps > Media > MemoPad > Messages > MidpSSH > NotifyLink Installer > Opera Mini.....

No Music Player...

Can I create a Home Screen short cut for "Music" and then add it?

Huh?

Leaving out third-part apps that might be in the list, the list of available apps should say:

...
Lock
Manage Connections
Media
Memo Pad
Messages
Music Player
Options
...
You are going into Options>Screen/Keyboard/Left (or Right) Side Convenience Key

Right?

Unless you for some reason did not install the media player, I can't imagine why it would not be there...

I don't know what to tell you guys - I have Music Player as an option, and when I set a convenience key to it, it opens the Music Player to the screen that shows:

All Songs
Artists
Albums
Genres
Playlists

Weird...this shouldn't be this complicated.

Sounds like you are the lucky one. Nobody else seems to have that option, myself included. I too am running a VZW device. Wierd.

Hey RedFlea,
Well it seems like you and I are running the same Os version on the same device,
Yes. I'm going Options > Screeen/Keyboard > Left Side Convenience Key.

I have the the Music player installed because when I go to Media I have the options for
Music | Videos | Ring Tones | Pictures | Voice Notes

It's just that from my list of apps available for the Convenience Keys, I can only select the high level Media option.

I wonder if it's a hard coded Carrier setting?

This is so strange...screen cap below from my BB using JLoader - not faking this, I really do have Music Player as an option:

No other Verizon user has posted to this thread, so I guess it could be carrier-specific, but that seems unlikely, doesn't it?

Kind of bizarre - does this mean I can never upgrade my OS again for fear of no longer being special?! ;)

It could be a function of the OS you have. I think that might have already been said..

Oh wait, I didn't phrase that quite right. By function I mean from that point on in the OSes - guess we'll find out if it was really just that special one when the next wave of betas hits!
