Angry Verizon VIP - NOT!

Please Login to Remove!

I have been a Verizon customer for longer than I can remember. I was one of the first kids on the block to have a World Phone. I have 6 other BB's on my plan and spend $900 per month with Verizon. I called 611 today and asked what it took to be considered a VIP and they told me "That there is no such promotion".

Can anyone out there verify that you have actually received the invitation?

Yes there is, I'm a VIP, this doesn't make sense but you can't have more than 5 phones, that's what I was told by CS.

I actually think that makes great sense. I sure each location will start with a limited amount of phones and they don't want to run out. If that is the case, then they should have invited VIP's like you and me, but limited it to one or two phones per customer.

Well for what it's worth I called VZW and was told that I was not a VIP yet I received the invitation. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it.

Looks like the VIP program was canned and they are releasing the phone to the public on the 21st instead of the 24th.

30 days ago, I was added to a "call list" at my local store. I figured it would not pay out, but it looks like it may have. I am #12 at that store on their waiting list for phones next Friday. Let's hope it all works out.

I was added to the call list as well. I'm hoping they will tell me that the store opens at regular time Friday so I can sleep a little closer to my normal time of 10am!!!

I'm a VZW VIP as well, but I just got the standard message saying the Storm is available on 11.21

I did get my wife a Curve earlier this year, and the discount they gave us was based on my VIP status and the sales peeps referred to it several times during our transaction. Don't know if that helps?

Yeah, I got my store invite and will swing by on Monday to check it out and buy one. I am looking forward to it. I have been using an 8330 for a little bit, but it just feels too cheap.

I am a VIP and was offered the storm a day early as well. The VIP program is still around I was told this by a CSR just yesterday when I made a call about my BB. I mentioned I was considering going to ATT and the VIP comment was the first thing out of the guys mouth.

Compared to an 8830? Yes, the keyboard on the Curve feels very cheap, in my opinion.

Gotcha. I like my curve so much better than my 8130 and my 8830. Feels so much more substantial.

So I got a phone call tonight from Verizon. It was a pre-recorded message saying I was a VIP and would get an extra $50 off any purchase. It said to hurry because it was a short term deal... the funny thing is that it didn't say anything about the Storm or when/what was meant by short term.

Anyone else get a call like this?

Was it from a "Private" number? I got a call, didn't hear anyone right away so I hung up.
