Default MMS on 8320

Please Login to Remove!

I've read lots of conflicting threads on whether or not the BB 8320 (on Tmo) supports MMS messages (SMS w/ pictures). My wife has a cheap phone on TMO and when she sends me a MMS message I never receive it (or anything for that matter).

Also from my phone I don't see a way to compose an MMS from my phone.

I am not sure whether this is still true or not.. but the xxx8220;BlackBerry Feature Enablerxxx8221; service from T-mobile gives BlackBerry users the ability to send and receive free MMS messages with a simple call to your T-mobile customer service representative (CSR) and asking them to turn the feature on.

Also you may want to check whether or not you have to be signed up for a SMS text messaging plan to be eligible for the xxx8220;BlackBerry Feature Enabler.xxx8221;

bb need data plan to get MMS.

MMS go over data network, SMS go over voice.

if you bb have data plan and assume dont have any sms blocks, there is no reason why MMS not work.

can your wife MMS herself?

I have a full data plan. But still don't receive MMS (or can't even compose them).

I was having a similar problem for the longest time. I could compose MMS and send them just fine but I couldn't receive them. I called TMO last night and the solution they gave me was so simple and almost like "duhh." (Even though I don't understand it much)

They told me to add a "1" in front of the area code of my number and try sending myself one. Then I told my friend to modify my number in her phone and I started getting MMS just fine. I'm not sure if that helps you any considering it doesn't seem right that you wouldn't even be able to "compose" a MMS.

Where do you find the Compose MMS option? (Just want to make sure I'm not missing it).

If you straight into the messages icon on the home screen hit the MENU button and it should give you some different options.

-Compose Email
-Compose PIN
-Place Call and so on and there should be a Compose MMS as well. There you have it from there.

If you are in your media files on a specific picture you would like send then like above, hit the MENU button and towards the bottom you should see "Send as MMS."

Hope that helps.

Yep not there for me.

I just got off with TMo w/ no luck. I have a service book that is MMS Config 2.0 and it's set to disallowed. They resent it with no luck.

BTW - I'm on the 4.5 beta OS but I don't see any reports of this being an issue.

Yes that is strange.

I can't think of why you wouldn't even have the option to send one. That's odd.

If you are on a BES, you need to check with your IT department/administrator. Maybe they have blocked MMS with the IT policy. If so, they are the only ones who can change it.

I have an unlocked 8320 on t-mobile. I'm on BES and I have the unlimited text messaging plan and I never had a problem sending or receiving mms messages.

Well my MMS are all screwed up now!

I can receive fine! No problems.
However, EVERYTIME I send one, all the person gets is a RED X.
I can send them to myself fine (TMO had me try this) but people only get the RED X when I send them.
Why is this happening to me? I'm sad!
