Default Should I upgrade to .75 OS as soon as I get my storm?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new to bb and I'm getting my Storm on or before 12/12. I'll be using BIS for my email and syncing daily to my Outlook PC for contacts/calendar info. My guess is that installing a new OS wipes out all previous data and settings on your phone. I was wondering if I should download and install the .75 OS as soon as I get the phone activated, before bothering to sync other data and set up email?

Thanks for the help,

Grey

Personally, I would wait until the next update cause .75 is buggy to me. However, if you decide to, do it first thing.

well, bis users are reporting that they are already able to get the official update from desktop manager, OTA should be out soon,

when you update, whatever settings you have are backed up, thats the default setting

I got the "leaked" update and I notice a decent difference... much less lag!

You can, it makes no difference. Personally, I would update the device first. But it doesn't matter either way. Congrats on your Storm.

updated to .75 as soon as i pulled the storm out the box. after that was done i deleted vz navigator and changed the touchscreen settings. lag hasn't been an issue and stability is very good. there's been one lock up since monday morning requiring a battery pull and that happened when using the video player. not sure what my experience would have been with .65, but based on others feedback i think this is how the device should have been released.

If you want to feel like a true Storm pioneer, play around on .65 for a couple of days to get a feel for what most of us suffered through, then upgrade to .75. I've had my Storm since the day after release and ran on .65 for a week. After upgrading to .75 it feels like a whole new phone.
