Default Unofficial Micro USB Cables

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone use one? I tried and I can't get them to work... it's weird... works perfect w/ the BB issued one, I tried two different ones (same model) and it simply won't connect. It'll charge, but it won't let me sync etc.

Same thing happened to me when I tried to use the micro USB cable that came with my Bluetooth headset. Real Blackberry cable works great. Other cable = "Device not found".

Exact same message... can't seem to correct it, I wonder if they wired it differently... oh well, guess I'll spend the extra $ for an add'l cable... the old USB cable was interchangable and I had an extra from a different device... why'd they decide to change I wonder?

I've bought them from Monoprice.com and they have all worked fine on both the 8220 Flip Pearl and the Storm.

Newegg.com sells a Link Depot 3ft MicroUSB cable for $1.99 plus shipping, or a Link Depot 6ft MicroUSB cable for $2.99 plus shipping.

That is what I use with my Moto V9M, LG Dare, Storm, Flip Pearl, and I gave one to my brother to use with his LG env2...

They work fine.

Since I already had a bunch of mini USB cables (both data and charging cables) from other Blackberries, I ended up buying 3 Motorola mini USB to micro USB (Motorola part number SKN6252A) adapters from HandHeldItems.com using a 30% off coupon code bbstorm30 for Storm accessories that expires on 12/31. Since I don't have enough posts yet, I can't link to HandHeldItems.com page for the Storm accessories. The only negative thing about HandHeldItems.com is that they took 10 days to send me the items but they only charged me $2.85 shipping for all 6 items that I ordered so I shouldn't really complain. You can also get the Motorola mini USB to micro USB adapters on eBay and Amazon.com for cheap.

I am using my Motorola one with a Rocket fish tip adapter from Mini-USB to Micro-USB. It syncs and charges.

When I'm traveling, or on some of my chargers, I too use the Moto adatpers... (have been since I first got my V9M). Its great so I don't have to worry about carry several longer USB cables or buying other chargers.

But because I have seen the moto adapters work their way loose, when I'm at home or at work, I do use a regular USB-A to MicroUSB-B cable.

Yeah, I picked up 4 of the Moto 6252 for $15 shipped on eBay. They work great, and cheaper than buying all new chargers/USB cables.
