Banf of America Mobile Banking Shortcut
Please Login to Remove!
I used to have this cool B of A icon on my BB that woulkd automatically open up the correct browser and take me to my login page at B of A.
After upgrading to the latest OS (aka xxxxxxxxx.190) this icon is no loger present. When I attempt to downbload the app again from the B of A site, I just get a blank white browser screen and it does nothing at all. However, when I type in the url to log into B of A's online banking, I am able to do it, which was not possible prior to installing this app. However, when I check my installed apps on the BB and in Desktop Manager, the B of A app is not present.
Anyone have this same issue and figure out how to fix it? I suspect the app may be on my BB but the icon is just not showing up, and it doesn;t show in the app lists. Anyone know how to refresh/rebuild the icons on the BB
Thanks in advance for your suggestions/help.

Where do you go to get that app? I use B of A as well, and I usually use Opera to view the site.

Check your downloads folder. The Bold loves to stick stuff there. You can always move it to your Home folder so it shows up like before.

The problem is when we go to mobilebanking.bankofamerica.com/bb it just gives us a blank white screen and no app to download...
If you use Opera to go there, it says "This is not a BlackBerry device".

copy and paste this address to your BB browser etc:
http://mobilebanking.bankofamerica.com/bb/
here's what the B of A webpage says:
Get the convenience of Online Banking right in the palm of your hand. You can now download a mobile banking shortcut for your BlackBerry handheld device, so you can manage your accounts virtually anytime, anywhere. Get the ease of Mobile Banking with just one click with our BlackBerry shortcuts to www.bofa.mobi - the Bank of America Mobile Banking site.
Visit http://mobilebanking.bankofamerica.com/bb/ on your BlackBerry browser to download the icon.

I am having the same problem with my bb. I'm running .167 and everything runs fine except that it will not let me download the b.a icon. I'm guessing is a problem from their site because I had it on my curve. I tried all the links and it takes me to a blank page.

That is the correct link for the download. But again, my problem is that when I go to that link, all I get is a white screen....and nothing else.

It must be something with the Bold. When I use my Curve, I'm able to download the app. When I use my Bold, I get the white screen.

That is helpful information. As you would probably guess, B of A tech support's immediate answer when presented with this issue is that "it HAS to be due to something on YOUR BlackBerry....couldn't possibly have anything to do with OUR SYSTEM".
Now that I have some confirmation that other people, on other operating systems, are experiencing the same white screen, it seems pretty obvious that the problem is with the B of A site, since that is the common factor here.
I'll contact them back and let them know about this.

Quite possible. Except B of A lists the bold as a compatible device, so they must have tested it. I wonder if they tested it with a much older OS, and now there is an issue with one of the new OS's, including the stock OS that ships from AT&T.

I am also having the white screen issue with the bold. Would be nice if they fixed the issues on their servers.. so typical of a corporation to place blame on the individual.

Yup. Their immediate assumption is that there is no way the problam could be on their end, so they will only consider issues that could be on your end when troubleshooting. That is why I go out of my way to eliminate all possibilities that a problem is on my end, which then forces them to have to admit that, at least there is the potential it could be on their end, at which point they will then often elevate things to the appropriate party. Threads like this, where I can accumulate a range of user experiences that prove the only common factor is how the B of A website is behaving, are extremely useful in proving a case like this. Of course, you shouldn;t have to "prove your case" in order to get a resolution, but unfortunately, that is the way of it.

Have you actually tried it? I have the Bold, and I just clicked on the bank icon and I was able to open the bank site.
