Default Bold or Curve 8900 (aka Javelin) ?

Please Login to Remove!

Which one and why ?

As I mentioned in other threads I lost my Bold so I'm looking to replace it with another Bold or the 8900. Both are the same price pretty much.

Just curious what others have to say.

Major differences: Bold has 3G vs EDGE on Curve, Curve has better camera, Curve is much smaller and more sleek (it's REALLY pretty), Bold is way bigger but keyboard on Bold feels much nicer to type on..

Minor differences: Bold has slightly faster processor (probably unnoticeable), a little bit more space (kind of irrelevant with the use of SD cards), bigger screen, but Curve's screen is a little bit more high res (again, you won't really notice).

So, what do the fine members of BBForums think? Post your reasons as well!

PS. While we're at it, any idea when the rumored 3G Curve would be released? Any updates planned to the Bold?

I guess I have to say Bold cause I have one... I have read minimal info on the 8900, but the biggest thing to me is the 3G. I've had it for years and it's only gotten better fore me since I got my Bold. Appearance wise, I like the bold cause it stands out on its own (based on form factor) I notice myself having to give the 8900 a double take cause from the pics I've seen it looks like a storm w/keyboard. Just me i guess... I guess i'll be that guy, and say in the end it's what you think works for you best. To me the camera was a minor set back, as my last phone has a 2.0 on it, but I didnt use it as much as I thought i would always. my .02

I will go for the 8900 when it is released on T-Mobile. Mostly because the Bold is too big for me (I like my BB's smaller in form). Also, I won't have to change carriers and be able to keep T-Mobile who has a pretty reasonable BB data plan.

I'm going with Bold too... not only because I have one though.

3G is a definite must for me so have to side with the Bold there. Don't think I'd really notice a difference in the processor speed or the slight difference in screen size/resolution. As for the curve having a better camera, it's not really a big deal to me since I don't really snap all that many photos with my phone. I agree with you on the keyboard being nicer to type on the Bold. I used my friends Javelin and I didn't really like the feel of it. I'm sure that it's just a matter of getting used to something though.

Overall, i'm totally content with my Bold.

Curve 8900 for the form factor. I am a heavy Pearl user. Tried out a Bold a few times, but could not get used to the larger size. I love the updates though. I am fine with EDGE. Or bring on a next generation Pearl!!!

I'm in the same predicament, I have an 8320 right now but would love to get an unlocked Bold on Tmo. The 8900 though is also awesome but I haven't had any hands on experience with it as I have with the bold. Augh, decisions decisions, best of luck to you pal!
