I've searched but didn't find anything regarding this issue I'm having with the OEM headset and my 7100. I'm kinda embarrassed, but oh well, it's driving me crazy. When I plug the headset into the 7100 I get no sound of any kind (no dial tone, etc.) through the ear piece even though the volume is up all the way. I’ve tested the headset on my cell phone and it works fine, so I believe it’s something with the 7100.

Please help this BB noob out, what am I missing or is this a hardware problem?

I had the same problem at first. I would plug it in but the sound was still coming from the handset rather than the headset. I plugged and un-plugged it several times and finally it just started working. I think it was a bad connection between the plug and the jack. Try plugging it in slowly while sound is coming from the handset and see if you at least get some static.

Thanks...That was it. After playing around with plugging it in a few times and twisting it a bit it works consistently now.
