Exclamation Need help choosing a DEVICE !

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,

Well.. After christmas, I received a lot of money and my sidekick lx is just boring me to death. So, I decided to either get a blackberry curve 8320, or wait till the " 8900 aka Javelin ". I would be getting the blackberry 8320 through ebay, but its going to be BRAND NEW. I will not go any lower then brand new. It was either that or a Nikon D60. I am not sure what to do, but I dont want to end up buying the curve and then regret my purchase.

That is why I came here to receive your opinions!

Thanks

-Luis

You might be waiting until Feb for the 8900 from a US carrier (TMO), but you should be able to get one now if you check around, probably at a premium price.

Nevertheless, you can also find some great deals on used 8320s around here on our Buy Sell section from trusted users. I would do that before buying off Ebay.

Where is the buy and cell forum, and how do you know that the dealer is trusted? I really dont want to get my money taken away.

On the main page of this Forum, scroll down toward to the bottom.

or click here: Buy Sell Trade - BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community

A seller with many posts and good feedback (see the feedback area at the top of that section) would be trusted.

A seller with a handful of posts and a recent join data here, i would avoid.

Get the curve now. If it were me and I decided to wait for a Javelin, I would end up spending the money on something else and not be able to afford it when it comes out, then be stuck with the sidekick.

Wait for the Javelin for sure. It's a few months wait, but you'll be oh so glad you did when you finally have it. I've been using a Bold for a month and I can't imagine going back to my old 8320 after being exposed to Bold's sexy high res screen and the new OS.

I don't think any of us can tell you if it's a purchase you'll regret or not. That's something you'll have to base on past experiences with your purchases.

Check out the Nikon D40 instead of the D60. The D40 is a few hundred less and actually has a better light sensor. The only thing you're getting with the D60 is 10 megapixel vs 6 which won't make a difference unless you're printing giant posters or billboards. Now you've got a few hundred extra dollars to play with for BB shopping.

Rather than telling you to buy the Curve 8320 now or wait for the Curve 8900 (aka Javelin), I first would ask why do you think you want a Blackberry? What do you want/expect out of it? What features appeal to you? Because, until we know that, I don't know what to tell you. It may be like another post I was reading this morning -- your answers may indicate that the BB is not for you at all.

If it turns out that the BB is right for you, then if you aren't in a hurry, I would probably wait for the 8900. Right now, it appears it will be released in Feb. But then I remember that the Bold was supposed to be released several months before it finally showed up so I wouldn't hold my breath. And as one poster above said, some people don't do good at waiting and if they wait, the money will be spent on something else in the meantime. But not knowing you and what you want or what your patience is, not sure what works for you. Or you could buy the camera if that's what you want.
