Default Another DM prob. With no ans so far!

vista 32bit premium
Dell studio laptop

So i have logged about 7 hrs. with BB tech support. No help.
I have installed and uninstalled 4.3 twice and 4.7 twice and 4.5 four times.
I have Installed as admin and ran as admin as well.
I have unchecked the root hubs of all 6 usb root hubs.
I have uninstalled the regedit as well and did the regsvr32 atl.dll thing.
The update patch i found in this forum didnt apply.
I have installed on another laptop and the device works fine.
Like others, my comp is recognizing the BB but my device man cannot. when i go into options USB is selected.
I tried to uninstall the RIM ports.
I tried a diff profile.


I may have forgotten the other things i have done. BB tch finally said call back in a week and if i figure it out before hand to call them back and let them know!
I called dell tech support and they said because its third party software its a 130 dollar charge one time session. I said no!
HELP please??????????

I hate to say this, but sometimes a clean reinstall of windows is the only answer.

I don't mind doing that. The laptop is fairly new (got it for x-mas), and I have the cd's with, I'm assuming the install stuff? I'll have to see if Dell provides instructions on how to wipe the laptop and install everything again :/
Just seems like a lot of BS for a device manager! My lady is amazed at how long I've actually spent on the phone with tech suppport. J ust to get it working and never use it lol.
