Default need input device

Please Login to Remove!

Hi my name is Hegre.
I recieved a blackberry storm from (brother)verizon for christmass.
I enjoy it alott.
The only think i do i listen to music and play Tribalwars a browser game.
I have fat fingers. It is still easy to use the touch screen but i would like to be able to click links without the need to zoom in as often.
I cant find a mouse or a stylus for use with the new storm.
Does anyone have a clue.
I dont know how it works so I can make one on my own.
Can anyone tell me if such item is out there and how to find it.
a joy stick or mouse or any input device that acts like a mouse.
Thanks alott for you time and help.

I can't honestly answer your question, but IMO any stylus should work. Im surprised it didnt come with one.

Try the Pogo Stylus. I wrote them an e-mail and they assured me that it works great with the storm.

There goes another $18 bucks i could not afford.
First i tryed one stylus and did not work then the expencive Pogo it was $18.50 shipping included.

It does not work.
Is there not some sort of input device for me.
Why is an empty aluminum stick $18 bucks.

so far $25 on trying diffrent input devices.
I blame blackberry for this.

How long have you been making PDAs. I think you would know not to put one on the market without input options.

even a little finger button like on a laptop. bought and inserted into the mini usb would be nice/anything.

I like and enjoy the blackberry storm and would like an input device so if you know of one plz let me know. Maybe i just have to wait for one to be invented. maybe the storm is to new.

Its my first PDA and with things advancing the way they are it wont be my last.

A question - did you remove the included screen protector that's on the phone? It may be hard to see, but look at the edges and you'll see it's there. If you haven't already, try peeling it off and using the stylus again. Are you pressing in on the screen with the stylus hard enough to 'click' the screen? Seems like that'd be akward with a stylus.

I am pretty sure you need to use your fingers, it would be like using a mouse pad on a PC with gloves on, it just won't work.

what makes the finger work on the screen?
Is it heat
Is it a ground from the metal back
How does it work so I can make the pointer work for me?

From Wikipedia:

Capacitive

"A capacitive touchscreen panel is coated with a material, typically indium tin oxide, that conducts a continuous electrical current across the sensor.[2][3] The sensor therefore exhibits a precisely controlled field of stored electrons in both the horizontal and vertical axes - it achieves capacitance. The human body is also an electrical device which has stored electrons and therefore also exhibits capacitance. Capacitive sensors work based on proximity, and do not have to be directly touched to be triggered. It is a durable technology that is used in a wide range of applications including point-of-sale systems, industrial controls, and public information kiosks. It has a higher clarity than Resistive technology, but it only responds to finger contact and will not work with a gloved hand or pen stylus. Capacitive touch screens can also support Multitouch. A good example of this is Apple Inc.'s iPhone and iPod touch."

So that's why your stylus won't work.
