I hate taking calls on my Storm because the screen never dims and just sucks the life out of the battery. Come on RIM, kind of a goofy feature missing on an all touchscreen device... Is there a 3rd party app out there or a setting that I'm just not finding...

Not sure how long your calls typically are . . . but after 30 seconds or so my screen dims. Of course, I'm also using the .75 version of the firmware from Verizon . . . are you running a later version of the Storm's OS?

I've had .65... then upgraded to .75... and with both OS versions the screen dimmed after a few seconds of being on a call. HOWEVER... the screen will light back up if your face touches the screen. I'm guessing this is what is causing your screen to stay lit.

This why I downloaded Cell Avant's Talk Lock application.

Talk Lock is an application that runs in the background... and everytime you make or accept a call... 3 seconds after connection Talk Lock will lock the screen. This will prevent any "touching" of the screen or mistaken activation of the speakerphone/mute buttons while on the call.

If you need to access the phone during a call there is a slider (slide your finger across the screen like on the iPhone) which will unlock the screen... and you then have full access to the storm. You can then leave the storm unlocked for the duration of the call or you can re-lock it through the menu button.

Do a search in here for Talk Lock and you'll find the link for the download. Hope this fixes your screen issue!

Also, out of curiosity, you might wanna check under options and screen/keyboard to see how long the backlight is set to stay on. And hawei has a good point, your face maybe touching your screen while on call causing it to think your about to select a button so it turns on the screen.
