Default 9530 on T-mobile network questions...

Please Login to Remove!

i found a thread on here that points over to crackberry and shows you how to get a fully functional storm on t-mobile's network....

HowTo:Get All Features (Browser, MMS) Working on T-Mobile w/Unlocked Storm 95xx - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

just checking in before i do this, is there anything else i'd need to do ? is there an updated service books file newer than the one listed on that thread ?

thanks

also i forgot to ask, which OS could I load, do I have to load the same OS that came with the device or should i be able to use one of the later builds of my choice ?

i know this one's a shot in the dark, but is it still impossible to remove the carrier logo from the welcome screen on bootup & shutdown ?

Use the tutorial that crackberry has with the those service books... They are the most up to date service books... I work for tmobile so i know..... Also to answer your concern about os.... You can load any OS you want wether be beta or offical... But bare in mind that when you do upgrade or downgrade your os that you have to do the service book trick again.... But it only takes 5 minutes to do anyway...

The storm works beautifully on tmobile service.... I love it

I have not read the one at CB. You can use JavaLoader.

i just bought the phone today. i went to a cell phone hut and had it unlocked....
i also asked if they could remove the verizon logo, and they said they could (unbranding the phone)....but i'll do that some other time.

the storm came with the .75 OS. i downloaded and installed .76 onto my pc, removed the vendor.xml file. i also downloaded the tmo service books i need. i am going to do this without crackutil because i don't want to install the software on my pc. i am running dm v4.6.

should i update the phone with the new OS first, and then do the service book replacement after the phone restarts ?

Congrats on the Storm!
Let me know if they remove the Verizon logo, because as far as i know, that is hard coded into the phone and CANNOT be removed. The only devices that do not have a carrier splash images are direct RIM devices.

You should update the device to the newest OS and then add the service books.

Wirelessly posted (8100)

Apparently there is software that can be used so that the phone can be de-branded, i did some research. But i'm gonna read some more, just to be sure there's no chance of bricking the device
