hi,

recently i brought a 8700 from US, unlocked it and using it in malaysia. now i want to update OS from 4.2.1.107 to 4.5.0.174(indosat one as suggested here)

will my phone remain unlocked after os upgrade?

all the lock options(sim, network, network subset etc.) are disabled currently.

Yes your device will be unlocked after the upgrading.

By the way, to check all "lock" status, you can type "MEPD" in the SIM Card page.
