Default How To Get Rid Of Language Symbol??

Please Login to Remove!

Okay, so i was playing around with the language on my 8900, and when i changed everything back to english, it was all good.

but when i type something, or i'm in an area where i can type, an "EN" symbol always appears on the top right corner.

How can i get rid of that? it can be really annoying...
any help will do!

thanks in advance

This is a bug. I had the same problem on my Bold, and it eventually disappeared on it's own. Normal troubleshooting methods did not clear it.

uninstall all the other Languages from our DL manager.
that "EN" box pops up because you hve other languages on the device.
i believe you have spanish and UK (by default).

that is what i'm thinking....

This will clear it until the user restores their backup or re-activates with their BES (if they use BES).

Wirelessly posted

This happend to mine also it didn't leave until I updated my OS. Also like Chbak014 said I uninstalled the other languages so this won't happen again I tried to make it happend and it won't since I don't have the other languages installed anymore.

Hi unclebabbu. I had this same problem 2 weeks back. I had itchy fingers and went to activate the language support and the damn EN appeared and won't go away.

I poked around crackberry.com and most suggested to remove the other languages. I believe the same advice was given here, but doing this (removing other languages) will NOT remove the EN icon.

I found a solution though. However this solution requires that you made some sort of device backup in the past BEFORE the problem existed.

If you had made a backup, go into device manager. Go into restore backup. You will then see 2 columns - the one on the left is your backup, the one on the right is the stuff on your blackberry.

On your left, scroll down to "language input support" and click the >> arrow. Restore ONLY this option. Click "done". This restore should only take 5 minutes. Your bb will reset itself and the damn EN is gone!

However if you have not done any device backup at all, you might have to reinstall your current OS. That was the advice i was given. Thank god i made a backup and only took me 10 min of my time!
