Default Updating the OS and Contacts for 8330

Please Login to Remove!

My friend wants to update his 8330 from OS 4.2 up to 4.5. How does the Verizon BB's work. Does it back up the contacts before for you before it wipes the OS? Or is there a way to back them up before you do the wipe. He's on BIS so I'm not to sure how to go about everything. I love my at&t sim card to keep everything on hand.

Thanks,
Justin

I would suggest that he do a back up using Desktop Manager before he upgrades. The upgrade process will back up and restore his contacts as part of the process, but it's just a good precautionary measure to back up before hand anyway.

Open up BB desktop manager, go to Backup & Restore. Then select backup. That'll backup everything on the BB including the contacts.
