So I downloaded 2 youtube videos in mp4 format. They play fine on my computer, I can hear it and see it. I put it on my blackberry curve 8320 4.5.0.124 and I play it. I hear it, but all I see is a black screen. Any help?

Try saving to media card first and see if that helps. It may be the encoding.

I originally saved them to my media card. I tried moving them to the device memory and that didn't work either.

Try using the Media Manager to copy them to the phone. It will convert them to whatever format will play

Good suggestion but if the original poster is using the mobile you tube siite, there should be no issue

The problem is not the format (MP4) but the codec used to create the file.

Unsupported Video Formats
MPEG-4 Part 10 (H.264 / AVC)
MPEG-4 Part 2 (Advanced Simple Profile)

Supported Video Formats
MPEG-4 Part 2 (Simple Profile and bvop, including DivX 4)

Most of the videos I have downloaded are .mp4 but using codec avc1/h.264

Before playing it you have to convert it.

I reconmend any-video-converter (AVC) freeware:
