Default Application Memory Free

Please Login to Remove!

So we are supposed to have 256mb onboard memory in the curve 8900 correct? How much of this memory is actually free? Mine is saying 100mb and I dont usually have much running in the background if anything and I dont have many programs installed. Im just curious to find out what the average person is showing here for free application memory and what are some good ideas about memory management or freeing up memory. Also I hear some programs may cause higher memory leaks than others and just wondering what youve come across..I heard viigo was, but the new update seems to be working good>>>thanks everyone

I have around 157 MB free. I have had almost similar amount of free memory with all the OS. Of course, did a little bit of optimization.

Thanks everyone...just one more clarification..out of the 256mb memory how much is reserved for the os or other tasks. And basically is it normal for me to have only around 100-115mb or memory left with only a few 3rd party programs installed?

I don't know how much is reserved for the OS, but I usually have between 130MB and 145MB after my applications are installed. To be honest, I really don't even worry about the memory with my 8900. After only have 64MB on previous devices this one has so much more. It would take a while for it to get back down to the 16-25MB range I would usually have on my previous models...

I have 106mb free. I don't do battery pulls. Nothing running in the background. 5 apps or so (the usual suspects like Googlemaps, 411, Viigo....). I figure that's more than enough and it doesn't go down from there ever.
