Default PIN Blocked

Dear Friends,

I have the following problem:

My bb works perfectly well. I can use bb messenger and send and receive PINs with contacts.

The problem comes when I try to set up my email account.
I got a message saying "The PIN is already in use by a different user".

Maybe this is due to the fact that the bb was owned by someone else before.

Is the previous carrier the one in charge to release my PIN or I should contact someone else?

The previous owner have to call the carrier to release the pin

What if I have no idea of who the previous owner is?

I got my bb through a friend who bought it from Orange Spain.

You can try calling your current carrier and seeing if they can release the PIN.

Are you receiving EDGE or edge signal?
Do you have access to Internet?
Is this a Verizon phone?

None of this really matters -- the former carrier needs to delete the associated BIS account.
