I know that as an alternative to POP, the Blackberry can be configured to sync with an Outlook Web Access account (Exchange Server).

Can anyone tell me if a minimum version of Exchange is required? Will it work with Exchange 2000?

The only other alternative that I know of in IMAP, but not sure if Exchange 2000 will recognize that.

I don't think 2000 is still supported, but don't write that as gospel. I do know to sync contacts and calendar using Desktop Manager, you need DM 4.2 as that is the last one which supports Outlook 2000.
