Red LED always on
Please Login to Remove!
Yesterday my LED went off (on ?) with a steady red light. took off all suspect software and did a battery pull. No help.
Anybody see this before?

Is your phone still working? or is it ONLY the red light?

Haven't seen it before, but how about doing another battery pull and waiting a good minute or two. I've seen instances where there was a problem and it was the second or third battery pull that did the trick.
Also, any chance you got the blackberry wet? Even a sweaty pocket?

Do you see anything on the display? Can you see/select any icons, or do you just see a black screen?
It may be worth a shot to try reloading the OS on the device.

That sounds premature.
It works fine other than the LED

Alright, your statement in post #3 made me think that the device did not work.

Looks like a LONG battery pull did it. For now anyway. Thanks!

For future reference, http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.p...ckBerry_Wet%3F. If you ever think water got into the blackberry, remove the battery ASAP.

Thanks, Ira.
I notice a pattern. The red LED shines steady when I open an email.

Don't know what to tell you. Maybe someone else will have an idea. That's the only oddball behaviour, huh? LED blinks normally, but you open a message and then it stays solid red? What happens when you then back out into the message folder, and then back out to the the applications or home screen?

I have a problem with the Red Light.
It has had no water damage, it just would not charge.
I have changed the battery, and the light is still on.
Nothing on the screen.

So, you remove the battery, wait a good minute, replace the battery, and what happens? Are you saying the LED illuminates, but the screen stays black?

Yes I had that problem with a beta of IM+ 7. I use LED reset which is a handy app when this type of thing happens. Get it here OTA

So I have this problem as well, and I downloaded the LED Reset button, which is nice and all, but is there something that can be done without having to hit the LED Reset button every time I get an e-mail/text/call/GoogleTalk message/etc?
Mine started doing this when I updated my Pearl 8100 to the 4.5 OS (the most current available through T-Mobile is 4.2, perhaps 4.5 is somewhat incompatible with the Pearl 8100?).

Oddly enough, this problem, for me anyway, was resolved by uninstalling the Color Pearl (if you already have Blingball). The LED light no longer stays solid after receiving messages of any kind or calls.
