Default BES 4.1.6 Auto Signature IT Policy Setting

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a small issue with auto signature which affects all my devices. We can switch on auto sign and set the txt from the BB device, but it isn't going out on the email when checking the recipient’s inbox. However I can setup the auto sign from the BES per user and it works fine, although this isn't a suitable fix due to the volume of users.

I have also found the auto sign policy setting within our default policy, but this will only allow me to set a signature and not switch the setting to True/false.

I know there must be a policy setting somewhere for this, but as of yet I haven’t' found it, can somebody help please?

For information we have quite a large range of BB devices.

If you switch it on through IT Policy I believe you need to also set the content through the BES.

Thanks for the reply, is there anyway the content can be set from the device rather than the BES?

Sometimes on device you'd need to turn auto signature off and save and then turn it on again and save it, before it kicks in. It happened to us before but not to a all users.

I have tried to Switch this off and then on again, but this doesn't resolve the issue. Do you have any other ideas on how to switch the Auto signature on from the device. I'm sure that there must be a policy blocking the auto signature from being enabled on the device as it seems to happen to all of our BB devices.

Any help would be welcome.

Thanks

To make sure it is policy, create blank policy apply to that user and see if it works.

I have tested a device with a Blank IT Policy and I am able to set the Auto signature. Now it's just a matter of finding the policy setting stopping this from working. Any ideas which one it could be?

Thanks

Do you have auto signature enabled in IT Policy, that is the only item I think may influence all users auto signature?

I may be looking in the wrong place (IT Policy > Desktop-Only Items > Auto Signature), but the only option is to set an auto signature message, there doesn't seem to be a place to enable the setting.

The fact that you can set signature for each user on the user properties means that is not the problem. Otherwise that field in user prop would be greyed out and inactive. Now when you enable signature on the BB wait until you see that change displayed on the bes user properties signature field or else you won't see it in outgoing msgs. It may take several minutes before it kicks in. So if you try before that it would not appear in the outgoing msg.
Other then this not sure what else it may be. Depending how many changes you have in your IT polices I'd be tempted to enable half of it and try sig. If it does not work create another policy with only half of the other half policy changed items. (that will narrow it down for you and apply and try again.. long process but ...
