Default Lotus Notes Email Addition to Bold - No BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all:

Did some research and could not find any help, thus the new thread. Just recieved a new Law school email account through Lotus notes and I cannot figure out how to sync it to my Bold. I do not have a BES account. Is there something special I need to do in order to sync it with my phone? Thanks in advance!

you cant "sync" it, but you can have emails pushed to your device.
Im unsure whether BIS supports lotus, but you can give it a try.

Setup the email address the way you would any other account, by loggin into your carriers BIS page and setting it up.

Apologies, by sync I meant Push. I tried logging into my BIS account to add the email account but to no avail. That is why I was trying to figure out if I was missing something.

You need public POP or IMAP access to your Lotus Notes mail file.
Domino Web Access is not supported (anymore).

How do you normally access your Lotus Notes mail from outside your office?

I only just began using Lotus Notes, so my extent of its use has been in Domino and HTML. How would I set it up with POP or IMAP?

If your company allows it, you can create a rule in Lotus Notes to forward your mail to an address that your BlackBerry can receive...

I've read about that, and set up my replies to run through my Lotus address. Still trying to figure out how to do that successfully. I suppose I am a little shocked Blackberry doesn't already have this one figured out.

They do... it's called the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES)... designed for corporate email systems and works with MS Exchange, Lotus Domino and other enterprise email/groupware products.

To use BES, your company needs a BES environment and you need a BES plan. Since that doesn't seem to be the case, you are left trying to find a work-around on your own. That's how it works IRL.

Yeah, I meant hadn't figured something out for BIS. I know about BES but I am guessing my school will not have a BES account availible for students to use. I suppose that leaves me trying to figure out how to configure send and recieve through POP or IMAP.

Wirelessly posted (Bold 9000)

Bro. You need to set rules on your Lotus notes to forward emails to your Blackberry email account. That's how I does it.
