Default access facebook on 8900 through wifi?

hi,
i just gave my bb storm for repairs, its under warranty so getting lucky
but i m considering moving to a bb 8900, i just want to know if i can access the facebook app on the 8900 through wifi?? is it possible??

i have a bold, but if i turn off the mobile network and activate wi-fi
i can still receive updates from facebook.

Seems to work fine for me, using FB 1.6 on my 8900 with OS 4.6.1.250 installed.

It works perfectly on mine, but AFAIK you will still need BIS to access the app. Since it's a RIM app, it's tied somehow to them.

Yeah, plus you can talk at the same time and still get updates while on 8900 on wifi

Well i got the bb 8900, i got the email unlimited plan with no browsing, the FB app doesnt work through wifi, i guess i have to go for a full data(browsing) plan for the fb app to work on wifi?? This SUXX..

Correct, to get data on the RIM applications like Facebook you must have more than a simple email only plan.

When wifi is enabled and your radio is enabled.. does WIFI take precedence?

doesnt work for me :S. Well it works, but i have to have a data plan (it will still use wifi, but it needs a data plan)
