Default Call Log Question on Tour

Please Login to Remove!

I have had an 8830 and just upgraded to the Tour today. I am unable to find out how to get an icon for my call logs on the screen. Currently they show up in my messages but on my 8830 and my daughter's 8330 there was a separate icon for the call log.

I have searched everywhere I know, every way i know how and on here to no avail...so is there a way to get an icon on the screen for the call log without having to go through the message icon??

There's no call log icon on the Tour. But you can get it just by clicking the green phone button. If you want the more detailed call log, open messages > Menu key > View Folder > Phone Call Logs.

Oh, and please change your profile to show your new device.

I changed my profile...thanks for reminder.

Thanks for the info but I have to say I am terribly disappointed that there is no icon and you have to jump thru so many hoops to get to your call log. Why is it when a phone maker puts out a new phone they add things that are better but they fail to include things that people liked?

My daughter is bummed that she can only have the 6 icons on the "home" screen. She had an 8330 and was used the "L" theme where she had more than 6 icons on the home screen. I am sort of irritated that this basically only has 1 theme included on the phone other than the Verizon one. At least my 8830 had more than 1.

Oh well change is never easy with technology.

Thanks again for the info. I was so hoping there was a way to have the icon and I was just overlooking it.

Now there are themes out for the Tour, some with more icons on the homescreen than the built in themes. Check our Media Center section for starters. Other sites have themes for the Tour now since RIM released the updated theme making software.

BBSmart will let you transfer the app to your new device and give you a new registration code. The info on this page tells what you need to do.

Well it's already after 1 am here and I can't stop working with it! But at least my daughter and I both have the same phone now so we are learning together and helping each other. When I got my 8830, BB Forums was a lifesaver because I knew nothing about a blackberry!

I am having trouble with the BBSmart thing though. I went to the link you listed and put in my email but it says I don't have an account. I thought I bought from BBSmart but maybe I didn't. I'll have to look on my old computer and see where I purchased it.
Again thanks. I am sure I'll have some more questions over the next several days about the Tour.

Those instructions say if you bought the app from BBSmart (and some other places) you need to go to MobiHand.

Smartphone - MobiHand Software Store Account

You should find the original email from when you bought it because I think you need the order number from it.

yes there is! it's hidden when you first get your Tour - you need to unhide it. I did and it works beautifully and is now unhidden and sitting pretty on my home screen

hope that helps someone!

menu
menu - show all
then check applications folder

but the call log icon shows what you can see by pressing the green call button as mentioned above.
Which is why the call log icon is hidden, as its almost redundant.

Yep, there is a phone log icon, and it is hidden. On the app screen, click the BB button, and Select Show All.

Beat me to the punch by mere seconds.
