Default Need help with blocking a PIN!

Please Login to Remove!

Okay so a lady friend of mine just messaged me through Blackberry Messenger and said she had someone add her to BBM and though it was probably someone she knew so she accepted it. Turns out this is someone claiming he's been stalking her for a while and it's got her kinda freaked out. She deleted him but he's still able to message her. I advised her to turn on her firewall and block pin messages and check off to allow messages from contacts. I don't know if this would work for just email type pin messages or the actual messenger pin messages? I also advised her to at least contact her carrier (She's with Rogers) and if she's really worried to contact the police with the stalkers pin. I already know the police won't likely do anything unless it persists. But I'm really just wondering is there some way to actually block a specific contact from sending you messages after you've given them permission to add you to messenger? It seems like the type of feature that should of been a simple idea to build into the operating system or at least into the messenger program to say the least but other then the firewall option I haven't been able to come up with any way of blocking someone. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks for any help!

Why not tell her to set the firewall to block PINs and allow for Contacts, and then test it with her just to make sure? I expect this will block both PIN messages and BBM, but I'm not 100% sure. I'd be interested in hearing your results if you try this.

Well that's what she did and it's working for now. I don't know if she's gotten anymore messages from this stalker or not. Although I was just thinking if there was a better way to block the individual person so she'd still recieve pin messages from any other friends she might not realize she doesn't have in her contacts or something of that nature.

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

She should certainly report it to the authorities!

Both -- a PIN is a PIN. BBM just uses PIN messaging to deliver the messages.

If the guy (I assume) has enough info to PIN message her, she should definitely report it. How did he get either her email or even worse her PIN to make contact in the first place? That crossed a big line.
