Default OS: 9500 4.7.0.245/4.7.0.181 (Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

This is for the 9500 model Storm only.
It will load to any carrier's 9500 by following the instructions below.

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.7.0.181
From carrier Vodafone.de

Package Version: 4.7.0.245
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.7.0.181
* Software Platform: 4.0.0.212
* File name: 9500_omadrmEuropean_PBr4.7.0_rel245_PL4.0.0.212_A4 .7.0.181.exe
* File size: 118.MB

Download the file here:
BlackBerry Storm 9500 | BlackBerry-Support | - Vodafone D2 - BlackBerry Storm 9500 / BlackBerry-Handhelds / BlackBerry / Hilfe & Support

Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 9500:
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Previous OS here:

Installing it right now. Wiped handheld first, backed up what I needed, asked the wizard not to backup/restore my unit anymore. Let's see how it works.

Edit: The setup went smooth. Everything is OK. I don't want to say that the OS is slow, but the screen flipping takes forever.

I did the install last night and i have to say everything went smooth . as far as performance it seems a little more snappy . i can see that because the typing is getting better. as far as the screen fliping its not slow but i have to say i have 48megs free so mine is working nice . and that is with bejive beta installed and blackberry messenger 5 also installed. if there are any issues will def update the post will install iheart and a few other apps that had some issues with thge previous OS .

The new OS is pretty good, lots of apps installed, memory stays at ~30, battery drains a little faster, new additions like Missed Calls, the ability to click on the service bars so you can manage your network connections including bluetooth, the screen seems more responsive. Like said, screen flipping seems slower, but entering/quitting apps etc. is a lot faster. So far it's the best OS that I had installed on the Storm.
EDIT: please note that the last OS i had installed as .148 so I don't know if these additions were here after between these 2 versions.

Default Clock Runs Slow

Since installing this upgrade, the device clock seems to run slow by about 5 minutes within a day. Manually updating it in Options-Date/Time against the network (VF) seems to kick it into place, but that isn't much good.

I installed it and it works ok. My camera is working again and it`s a bit faster OS. Try to press an signal icon and you are in >manage connections< or try clock on main display and you are going to clock options... nice if you are turning bluetooth on/off frequently.
But there is one problem...... my Gmail app doesn`t work.
If someone knows how to fix it, please msg me or post. tnx

Presumably VZ will be releasing os 5 for the storm1 tomorrow night (25th). I guess that will make it the first official release of OS 5.
