Question Have 2 8320's with Tmo and need to find a cheaper service

Please Login to Remove!

I searched and couldn't find anything that gave me a black and white answer..

I (like stated above) have 2 8320 (1 for me and 1 for my wife) and we need to trim our bill considerably. We don't need internet, however, we'd like to have unlimited text messages and talk time.

Does anyone have any suggestions? We live in the 93536 area code (Tmo's signal is horrible where we live).

Best bet is to take your latest bill to other carriers and have them tell you what they can offer. I'd bet Sprint would save you some $$, especially if you get a discount for your employer.

Drop the data plans. I'm running a pair of modded 8310's on Tmo. No data plans, and my bill hasnt changed. Still have full internet, though. Basic family plan w/2 lines, unlimited text, and thats about it. Feel free to contact me if ya wanna discuss details.

How do you get net without the plan??

Also, are there any cool weather or news apps (apps that do not require net)?

Ditto on checking with Sprint. We have the a family plan with 3 BlackBerry devices that includes 1500 minutes (incl. free mobile to mobile on any carrier), unlimted data, unlimited text/pics/video, Sprint Nav GPS, and a couple others. With the company discount it's $140/mo.

What is more important - a cheap plan or coverage when and where you need it?

A Tmo 8320 is a quad band GSM phone. Sprint wont do any good, unless you want to buy new devices anyway. ATT is the only the other compatible GSM carrier I am aware of, but, I am on the other side of the country.

Question

Well I was told by Tmobile sales reps that if you had a smart phone PDA, like BB, G1 and so on, that the internet plan was required $25 a month (i think)... that you couldn't get it with out it. BUT I purchased one of my BB online and wasn't asked to add or added the plan. So we got a BB with no internet plan and have wifi so we can use it online any way just not on the road... Its confusing...

Sorry, technically my 'data' plan is the tzones plan. I've had it so long I forgot, since it isnt classed as a 'data' plan by Tmo. Though, to buy a smartphone through Tmo stores, you have to sign up for the expensive crap. Fun, neh?
