Default WEP Key Lenght for Wi-Fi Setup

Please Login to Remove!

I'm trying to establish a Wi-Fi connection in an office for which the WEP key length is 17 characters. My Bold disallows me from setting up this connection, specifying that its WEP key length can be only 5 or 13 characters. Is there any way to set up the connection for my Bold using a 17 character key length? Thanks.

That's odd. My office wep key is 26 characters long and my bold connects just fine.

When I try to set up a new connection that has WEP Security, it says that the key must be either 5 or 13 characters in length. It won't accept anything else.

This is why I just put in allowed mac addresses at the router. I've had too many problems with one device liking this security protocol and the next device rejecting it and requiring a different one.

I suppose I should clarify my previous post. My office wep key is 26 hexidecimal digits, not characters.
