Exclamation Telus 9700 Unlocked....3G?

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought a Telus Unlocked 9700. I know it is 3G but will a Rogers/Bell/Fido sim card work and still be able to use 3G signals?

I know for the Telus Tour it does not work and only runs on the EDGE network. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Won't be 3G on T-Mobile for sure. Wrong 3G frequency set.

The 9700 includes a 2nd level of unlock, unseen on previous devices.

Contact Horizon Wireless... they can do it.

For the Rogers Blackberry Bold 9700, it was very straightforward and I only had 1 unlock code (Network MEP Code)... not sure about Telus and/or Bell... it only costs me $4 but the price dropped even lower than that.

The 9700 will unfortunately the Tour 9630 does not. All their future BlackBerry devices should come out on the same technology. Enjoy!

I am having similar issues with a TELUS Bold 9700.
All I need is the Service Provider (MEP4) code to unlock it, but the codes I received did NOT work.
I get a "code error....please wait" message.

I have tried 5 iterations of sim in, sim out, all connections off, etc.... and have now burned up 5/10 tries, so I am going to have to be extremely careful trying (and failing) again.

Maybe there is a glitch in these specific phones ?
Let me know what you "heard back" regarding a longer code - as per your message above.

I can help you unlock it.

I know my post number is low but check out my website. If you want help just PM me your IMEI and MEP and I can get any code (MEP2 and MEP4) you need for that phone.

try either:

A:
Regular Method:
1. Insert ANY SIM card (can be active or inactive) 2. Go to Settings Menu 3. Go to Options 4. Go to Advanced Options
5. Go to SIM card 6. Type MEPD using your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing MEPD) (For Blackberry 9700 Bold MEP Unlock Code for Telus Canada) 7. Type MEP[Alt + 2] ( M E P, Then type Alt key, then 2 ) 8. You should be presented with a prompt "Enter Network MEP Code". Type in the 16 or 8 digit unlock code 9. Your phone is now unlocked

Personally I used ExpressUnlock for my Telus 9700.

^ You do realize your post was completely unrelated to this topic right? He's mentioning Canadian providers; not the US providers hehe. Guess you didn't have your coffee yet.

I wish my Telus 9700 would behave and unlock !!

No dice, with those instructions - still gives me the "code error - please wait" message.

Is there any way for me to verify if the codes I was given were valid or bogus - maybe that is the issue ?
