Default Synchronize Problems - please help

Please Login to Remove!

After downloading Desktop Mgr (from the disk that came with phone AND off the BB site), I am unable to sync the phone to Outlook. The Synchronize alert pops up and says I must be connected to the internet to perform this operation. And I am connected to the internet.
What's also odd, is there's no way to set the parameters of what files I want to sync (notes, contacts, calendar, e-mails, etc.) - it's as if those options don't exist.
Now here's the odd part. This is a new computer. On my old computer this was not an issue at all. Everything synced perfectly!

So ... anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Try a battery pull on the BB.

Make sure you are plugged directly into the PC, not via a HUB.

Do you have BB dataplan or a generic data plan for the BB?

What version of DM and Outlook? What OS on the PC?

ANSWERS:
1. Did the battery pull, not the solution.

2. Generic Data Plan only.

3. Windows XP (2002 w/SP3)
Device Mgr is v5.0
Outlook is 11.0.5510.0

4. It's a direct connect to USB port on computer.

Hope this helps with solving the problem.
Thank you!

Outlook 2007? 2003? 2002? 2000?
No one knows the version number from the About screen for Outlook.

Yeah, that was stupid on my part! It's Outlook 2003.
However, I've gotten news from out IT guys that the firewall in our office is preventing the DM to link correctly to the internet/Blackberry. They can open the exact Firewall ports to allow the software to link if they know exactly which ones.
Does anyone know the specific TCP/IP Port Addresses the software requires to link up to Blackberry and thereby allowing the software to fully function?

Thank you again!!!
