Default Cursor problem

Please Login to Remove!

When I am composing email or using IM, i noticed sometimes the cursor just jumps around and I cant type. Have to use trackapd to get in the right position which sometimes doesnt happen. Sometimes when this happens, when i type, funny characters comes out.

Anyone ever encounter this problem?

Not a clue.

Have you tried a hard reset? With the blackberrty turned on, remove the battery for 30 or more seconds, and replace. See what happens. That fixes many odd problems most of the time.

Also, have you perhaps exposed the blackberry to moisture? EVen a sweaty pocket or foggy locker room has been known to cause problems with blackberrys.

I'd bet that it's user error - simply that once in a while while typing, the OP's accidently brushing by the trackpad...

there must be another force from beyond that is accidentally doing it since yours truly's(the user) thumb or any other fingers is not in contact with the trackpad or keypad when problem arises.....

Heart rate monitor. I was P90Xing the other day and noticed that the chest transmitter for my heart rate monitor was causing my 9700 to scroll down my email messages all by itself, and would make the cursor jump around making composing a message tedious! Anyone else have a RF issue? No biggie as I usually don't BB when working out, but if I hold it at arms length, problem goes away.

I have a 9700 with drifting cursor. This is my 3rd one. and the first two did not have this problem so it is something about the unit. The 1st BB had WiFi problems, the 2nd. failed and this 3rd one has cursor problems.

Seems they have a quality control problem.

None of the standard things fixes the drifting cursor. Reboot, Reset, changing sensitivity etc.

Anyone know of a fix? I have not called them about this but I have not found anyone who said that BB was willing to replace it as defective. I think it is.
