Calendar Sync Two way?
Please Login to Remove!
Hi All
We have Exchange server 2007 and BES 4.1.7. All features seems properly working, except calendar sync.
When i updated a calendar item on the OWA, It can be synronized on the Blackberry device.
Buy when i updated a calender item on the Blackberry device, it wont be syncronized on the OWA.
It is only syncing one way ( Exchange to Blackbery device ) We want to use two way syncing Exchange beetween Blackbeery device . How can i do ?
I cant see any calendar sync option on the BES admin panel. May be is it in the Blackbery device?
Thanks

Before checking for Software problems/wrong permissions:
Syncronisation for the calendar normally should work in both ways if is enabled.
For all other items then the calendar:
go into the BES console,
right klick a user, "properties"
navigate to "PIM sync"
now, you can see, if synchronisation is on or off, and, in which direction it will sync.
however, the calendar is not visible here.
you find the calendar, if you just select a user in the console,
There, you should see: "Wireless Calendar: enabled"
if it is not enabled:
on the device: calendar, options,
Calendars:
Desktop
click, Then, you can set the wireless synchronisation to off or on.
---
You can reset the calendar and force a resync from the server:
calendar, options, then:
blind type: "rset"
a message comes up, confirm.
The calender is erased and reloaded from exchange.
After that, again try if synchronisation does now work in both directions.
( synchronisation will take a time from immediately to about 1 minute)
if it still does not work, resend the service books to the device, try again.
if it still does not work, open a command prompt on the BES server,
navigate to the folder, where the BES server is installed,
there you find a folder "uililties":
C:\Programs\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\utility
and a program "iemstest".
execute it, if asked choose the BESadmin profile, then, from the GAL the username in question to test.
What is the output of the iemtest ?

On the blackberry device,
Calendar,
Click on the button left from the trackball,
Options,
Then, blind type: rset
Other possibility:
Wrong versions of mapi.dll and cdo.dll
Most likely it is the cdo.dll.
Where to acquire the CDO Libraries xxx40;all versionsxxx41;

Options>Advanced Options> Service Book> Locate ur CICAL service book for the application and delete it. Then re-send it from the BES..

I've found that BES Calendar Sync can sometimes "hang up" for no particular reason, usually after the BB OS has been updated. Can't give you an exact way to "un hang" it but it involves making calendar entries in both Outlook and BB and then editing them then forcing reconciles. Seems to unclog things somehow.

I can not use the BES option due to security issues for work. I have to have my email set up as a POP email account which works fine.
My issue is syncing the calendar with my outlook. I update by using the USB chord that was supplied with the phone. when I update an appointment on my work computer it will update my blackberry calendar. But when I update my blackberry it will not update an appointment on my computer.
I don't see any option to change it on the BB software or on the phone

Same problem as you sir.
When we upgraded to Exchange 2007 we were told we need to change nothing, NOT.
The first thing Anyone "MUST DO" when upgrading exchange is to re implement security for BESAdmin account. Its essential becuase Exchange 2007 works a bit differnt and the BESAdmin user does not move accross 100%.
This is a major reason for calender not sync from BB device because the BESADmin does not have security to write events to users calender.
This is what solved our problem.
However, I did contact Blackberry Advance support and they suggested these two KB's read
We have Blackberry support from Vodafone and they supplied me with these two KB's
Please read through it.
"Unlisted Message Error" appears when sending a meeting request from the BlackBerry smartphone
blackberry.com/btsc/kb05031
Calendar synchronization does not work from the BlackBerry smartphone to Microsoft Outlook
blackberry.com/btsc/kb14075
Please go through these KBs after you have re applied appropriate security.
