Default very slow internet

Please Login to Remove!

Hi I am a new curve 8520 user, my first bb. I have found that it is very slow when opening the browser and while browsing the net in general. It can take 3 mins or more to open the browser and similar when opening up new sites. Am I being fussy or is there a problem? I am on T mobile in the uk. Any help would be appreciated!

I think you are on EDGE and not 3G since you have the 8520, so it won't be all that fast.

Are any other data intensive apps also running? Could also be a memory problem.

Might try a battery pull and see if that helps.

Hi dub dub, I did what you said and configured the browser and it is quicker. When I bought it I just assumed it was 3g, big mistake on my part I think! My lst phone was a nokia and it was 3.5g so tthis is gonna take a bit of getting used to. Its still a much better device though! Thanks for your help

Wow, 3 min for the browser to open :s I'm glad you were able to fix it a bit there.

I don't mind edge, it's a couple seconds difference to me.

Generally EDGE and 3G aren't that much different, but it depends on a lot of factors, most of which are out of your control.

Where you should really notice a difference is in tethering.
